Sankalp is built to be private by default. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app handles, where it lives, and the control you have over it.

1. Overview

Sankalp ("we", "our", or "the app") is a task and habit tracker developed for Android and other platforms. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use the app. By installing or using Sankalp, you agree to the practices described here.

We have designed Sankalp to function fully without an account and without sending your personal content to our servers. Most data never leaves your device.

2. Information we collect

Sankalp collects as little as possible. The categories below describe the only information the app may handle:

check_circleContent you create — tasks, habits, notes, projects, streaks and reminder times. This is stored locally on your device.

check_circleOptional diagnostics — if you opt in, anonymous crash reports and basic usage events (e.g. "app opened") help us fix bugs. This never includes the content of your tasks or habits.

3. How we use information

Information is used solely to make the app work and improve it. Specifically:

check_circleTo diagnose crashes and prioritize improvements (only with your consent).

4. Data storage & optional sync

By default, all your content is stored in a local database on your device and is never transmitted to us.

If you choose to enable backup or cross-device sync in the future, your data may be stored in your own personal cloud account (such as Google Drive). In that case the data is held under your account and governed by that provider's terms — we do not retain a copy.

5. Third-party services

Sankalp keeps third parties to a minimum. Where used, they are limited to:

6. Your rights & choices

You remain in control of your data at all times. You can:

check_circleDelete all app data permanently from Settings, or by uninstalling the app.

7. Children's privacy

Sankalp is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

8. Security

Because your content lives on your device, its security is tied to your device's own protections — screen lock, encryption and OS-level safeguards. We recommend keeping your device updated and secured. Any optional cloud backup relies on the security of your chosen provider account.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the app. Continued use of Sankalp after changes means you accept the revised policy.
